Parahawking

Okay okay, I know I said that chess boxing was my favourite hybrid sport, but now there’s a new contender. I have one word for you, just one word: parahawking.

This isn’t so much a sport as it is a couple of guys with a rather unique idea. Get a trained bird of prey, get in a paraglider, and get to hunting.

From 2010 to 2017, falconer Scott Mason and paraglider Adam Hill did just this in Nepal. They had black kites and Egyptian vultures flying with them, right up until they were shut down by the Nepalese government. You can see a video of their exploits below.
